  1. A festival for Figaro animators, I see. Surley some of these people turn up again as girly animators in the coming sections.

Look at that, Ham luske IS working with someone else! No Jack Brunner, though.

  2. Mmm, the Figaro & Cleo animators appear to pop up (Larson, Karp, Bradbury, McClennan), although excluding Don Lusk (who probably does the fauns or unicorns, or maybe centaurs).

Mmm, I get confused with Fred Madison being either character or effects animator.

Ah, Walt Kelly on fauns, I read before that Kelly did fauns; and I belive he did a few scenes of Bacchus and his donkey (apparrently named Jacchus [is this meant to be similar to "jackass"?]).

Can't wait to see the next installment; hopefully we will see Fred Moore's name pop up, as he doesn't seem to be credited for any scenes on "The Soceror's Apprentice", my guess is that he does the close-ups of the centaurettes.

  3. So, Kelly animates the fauns when they appear on their own, Karp animates the unicorns on their own, but other animators handle both groups when they appear in the same scene.

A lot of former Figaro/Cleo (Larson unit) animators on the pegasi, plus Kimball-ite Don Towsley.

No mention of the pegasus colts changing colour when they come out of the water in scenes 50-54, so I guess it was a mistake rather than an artistic decision... also, the draft mentions only three, plus the youngest one, but the film has one more.

  4. Oh, by the way, when I described Towsley as a Kimball-ite I was referring to his role on Pinocchio and possibly Dumbo, I didn't mean I thought he was under Kimball's supervision here. Walt Kelly's fauns, however, do look like Kimball-designed characters... I wonder if we'll see him animate them later.
